odEulogy - A Piece of Theater on the Death of Theater
Staged Reading / Free admission
An ode and eulogy to American theater, odEulogy praises the great 20th century playwrights but also questions where their audiences are disappearing to... Two desperate actors tackle as many American classics as possible in one hour, commentating along the way on the relationship between the stage and American culture, be it profound or insignificant.
odEulogy promises fun audience interaction and hopes to not only generate discussion within the theatre space but to inspire audiences to continue researching about their local theatres. In other words, odEulogy raises crucial questions - in a very entertaining way - that do not just apply to the American theater scene.
This staged reading is a product of the American History, Culture and Society Master‘s program at Protected content and is supported by a grant from the Studienbüro der Fakultät für Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften.
