Last Day - Die Irrfahrten des Meese
This is the last day of the exhibition. I have seen it two times now and enjoyed exploring the work of this artist.
In the Greek legend, the hero Odysseus insists on his wanderings dangerous adventures and solves mysterious tasks - to eventually return home as another. Like an Odysseus of the present, the artist Jonathan Meese (* Protected content Tokyo, lives in Berlin) embarks on an imaginary journey with numerous stations in the exhibition.
In drawings, paintings and sculptures from more than 20 years, encounters with a variety of ambivalent protagonists and situations take place, which the artist faces in his most archaic role as a symbolic savior and liberator. Where does this journey end, on which the exhibition visitors can accompany the courageously provocative artist?
there are several other areas and exhibitions to explore in this museum.
