Let's talk about "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner"
Next Thursday we'll discuss one of Alan Sillitoe's most known work: the short story "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner", available here in different formats Protected content (for the PDF, read the first 25 pages as the link contains a whole book of stories published under the same title).
Alan Sillitoe is a British author, a member of the "Angry generation" - a movement that appeared in the late Protected content . His debut novel, "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning", as well as this short story, deal with the struggles of young men in post-war British society.
It doesn't matter if you didn't have time to finish reading the whole short story or that you'll be late.
The Bucharest Short Stories group is a place where you can discuss short stories. Anybody can propose a short story. It should be no longer than 50 pages, available for free on the Internet and in English (translated or not). All the discussions are in English. It doesn't matter how fluent you are in English, if you can understand a text then you can join our meetings. A vast literary vocabulary is also not required.
Sorry, but you are not allowed to join this Activity Group!
We are afraid that you cannot join, because the Consuls have limited access to this Activity Group.
