Plogging: a win-win for personal fitness and our environment!
“What is plogging?”, you may ask. It is a Swedish phenomenon that mixes jogging with picking up trash along the way. For those interested in etymology, the term comes from the Swedish phrase “plocka upp” (to pick up, reap) and jogging. What better way to combine some exercise and fun with betterment for our community and the environment!
Thanks to Urban Plogging, the next event will take place in Morges on Sunday, 23 September. The organizers will provide gloves and biogradable bags to help us collect the maximum amount of garbage within about one and a half hours. They will also provide healthy snacks after plogging.
If you are interested in heading to Morges together by train from Geneva, I’ll be taking the IC517 on platform 3 that leaves at 9h15 on Sunday morning. We can meet on the platform at 9am and we’ll arrive at the meeting point around 10am. As you’ll note from the event website, the general meetup is at the Port du Petit-Bois at 10h15.
