Let's discover public sculpture with George Zongolopoulos
If you have ever been to Thessaloniki, you could not have missed these majestic umbrellas metal sculpture designed by George Zongolopoulos. Now for a limited time, a full exhibition of 20 of his sculptures will be on display (4 of them for the first time ever) in both beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to showcase exclusively his creative vision for art and sculpture dedicated for public spaces. The exhibition traces how Zongolopoulos’ public sculpture charges and converses with installation sites, locations in which it enters into communication with the public on a daily basis; it moreover highlights the importance of public art or sculpture, redefining the role of the citizen and its relationship with the public space. Come join us for a walk of exploration and awe in this beautiful public space, great for all ages. All art and sculpture enthusiasts welcome! It will also be a great opportunity to walk around the grounds and parks of this lovely space! Those who would like to stay longer can join for a drink/bite in the cafe or along the grounds after.
