Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra - Schubert Octet
The Octet in fa major, commissioned to Schubert by the Austrian Earl Ferdinand von Troyer, a famous clarinetist of his time, was written in March Protected content is a rare synthetic form. It was premiered a few months later by von Troyer at a concert at the residence of Archduke Rodolfo, an important patron of the arts at the time. It is, in essence, a large-scale diversion characterized by a spirit of liveliness and optimism and skillful writing in the parts for solo clarinet, but also for clarinet and bassoon. In the main musical themes of the first part, the listener easily recognizes the melody of Schubert's famous song "The Wanderer" ["Der Wanderer"].
Let's listen to the concert and comment on it after.
