Traditional 'Bollito Misto' and Barbera !
After the lovely Bagna Cauda event in Nizza town we're still in Barberashire, another gastronomic proposal is the famous 'Bollito Misto'. We take the 10.30 train fromProtected content
. Here we take a nice walk to higher Montegrosso where a barbera wine tasting session in a medieval setting is organised in the Castle by the owner Graziano Motta (only 12 tasting seats available!! other attendants can look on !!) Then to lunch at the 'Ristorante Centrale' close by, for a traditional lunch of Bollito Misto, Agnolotti in Brodo, special desert all accompanied by fine Barbera. This restaurant prides itself on quality and homemade products. We also visit their underground 'Crutin'.
For those who prefer an alternative to the Bollito Misto dish, you can select from the restaurant menu.
After lunch you can choose to visit the Enoteca “Colli Astigiani” run by the Bartolino family who offer wine tasting of their own production and many other renowned labels.
Trains depart 29' past the hour every hour up till 20.29 (except at 16.29)
(Please note, the first 12 who book 'lunch + castle tasting' are IN but reserves and ONLY lunchers are accepted without problems.)
If the weather is good, be prepared to start playing Conkers after the wine tasting but before lunch. After lunch and before you return to Torino, you will enjoy playing some games.
