Let's enjoy together another pleasant, easy going and stress free, as well as artistically inspirational, excursion, this time to the Protected content
The fastest way to get to Lille / Villeneuve d'Ascq is by car, therefore I propose that we do carpooling (and cost sharing).
Theoretically the drive to the LaM is about 1h20.
We will meet at the Protected content

Please indicate whether you can drive or whether you need a lift.
(I need a lift, as I do not have a car any more in Brussels.)

If you like we can have a drink and/or some food in the Protected content

And if there is time we could go for a walk in the LaM Parc and see the sculptures of Alexander Calder, Richard Deacon, Eugène Dodeigne, Jacques Lipchitz, Pablo Picasso and Jean Roulland before we head back to Brussels.

LaM is devoting the spring of Protected content a figure regarded as one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century: Alberto Giacometti.

This outstanding retrospective will bring together over Protected content under one roof for an unparalleled exploration of the founding myths of the history of modern art.

Inscribed in our imaginations, Alberto Giacometti’s fragile, elongated sculptures render the profiles of men and women either motionless, or captured in the process of walking or falling. These much sought-after masterpieces will be complemented by a wealth of outstanding loans set to reveal Giacometti’s unique artistic career: his early works influenced by the Cubist movement, the passion for Egyptian, African and Oceanic arts that he shared with Constantin Brancusi, his meeting with André Breton and the Surrealists, as well as his later painted works.

This spectacular Giacometti retrospective will invite visitors to look afresh at an artist previously little exhibited in the museums of Northern Europe. An event not to be missed in a museum transformed for the occasion.

I am looking forward to enjoying this art excursion with you.
