Hiking Mt Takao during cherry blossom season 1 of 2
A very popular hike, especially during the cherry blossom season is Mt Takao. The cherry blossom is Protected content later than usually in Tokyo.
An easy level hike, most popular in Japan with miso mushroom soup at the peak if you like.
This will prove to be an easier hike - If the sky is clear you will also be able to see Mt Fuji from the peak. It's one of the most popular hikes in Tokyo because of it's ease of access from central Tokyo and the views from the top. The one way fare on this run is 390JY.
For those beginner hikers there is a gondola or cable car available for the return. However, the group will go to the onsen located at the train station(optional), a newly built - five pool onsen, with varieties of heat and type of water. So, bring your onsen towel.
As with all hikes - you should be prepared with a bento for lunch (however, food is available at the top), water, sunscreen and hat, and any hiking boots/shoes preferred
How to get there:
Leave from Protected content leaving at 8:00 am (typically found on track Protected content double check) and change trains at Kitano station to then continue on to Takaosanguchi. We will arrive Takaosanguchi at 8:52am.
