WEATHER UPDATE: Even though there some scattered light rain forecast for Sunday during this event, the event WILL BE HELD. We can clean up under the bridge and nearby and I'll have a tent ready as well with tables and chairs.

Come out and experience the beauty and magnificence of the Arakawa River while making our environment better at the same time. This will be a 3-part activity with a picnic in the middle at 1:00pm and a river clean up session in the morning and another river clean up session in the afternoon. You can join the clean up in the morning and picnic or come to the picnic at and the afternoon clean up or just the picnic.

Part 1: We will gather outside the station ticket gate at 9:30a.m., and then go to the Arakawa River by van and pick up trash along the banks for about 2 to 2.5 hours. If you come late please walk to the river Protected content and find us. I can seat 7 passengers in my van.
Part 2: From about 12:30 we will begin to set up for a riverside picnic with a kanpai and start eating from about 1:00pm. I will pick up people at the station ticket gate at 12:30 and take them to the river by car. (Again if you come late walk to the river and find us.)
All food and drinks will be provided for the picnic. Admission to picnic Y1, Protected content or Y1,500 for people drinking beer, wine and chuhai). The picnic will have a considerable amount and variety of foods as well cake and fruit for desert and some quality beers as well. A tent, tables and chairs will also be provided. Afterwards we may toss some frisbees and balls around.
Part 3: From about 2:30 or 3:00pm, another clean up sessions for late arrivals who are interested in doing this activity but not able to come in the morning.

Recommended: Hat and other sun protection, gloves, walking/hiking shoes, generally older clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty. The clean up route will be mostly paved so rubber boots will not be necessary. Trash bags and extra gloves will be provided.

Again, if you come late or will just attend the picnic, walk to the river alongside the Tozai Line up to its bridge and look for us on the right side near the water line and call my cell phone or message me for our specific location. The adjacent park has restrooms nearby the clean up area. I may be able to shuttle people back to the station by car but it is also only a 10-minute walk.
