We, Alex and Mari, would like to invite you to the first event from a series of online ones, events which present and praise Romanian's creativity, adaptability and resourcefulness, but also customs and traditions.

O noapte furtunoasă/ A stormy night is a movie (in ROMANIAN) in which the filming took place in Protected content , directed by Jean Georgescu on a screenplay by Jean Georgescu, inspired by the play of the same name (appeared in Protected content Ion Luca Caragiale.

Ion Luca Caragiale Protected content 1852– 9 June Protected content considered one of the greatest playwrights in Romanian language and literature, as well as one of its most important writers and a leading representative of local humour.

When the filming took place, Romania was at war and in full military dictatorship. Because Bucharest was in camouflage and it was not possible to work outside during the night, as the script required, all the exteriors were built in a very small studio.

The 70-minute black-and-white movie premiered on March 22, Protected content , at Cinema ARO.

In Protected content , communist censorship "adjusted" the movie with scissors. The sequences removed by the censors have been lost forever.
