➤Gianlorenzo Bernini ( Protected content ) and Francesco Borromini ( Protected content ) were the two great architects who contributed more than any other artist in Rome to the Baroque heritage of this city. Two absolute masters, without a shadow of a doubt, but with very different personalities.
They were rivals in their genius work for ROMA. Two artists so different already from their lands.
One of the sunny Naples, the other of the cold Ticino, both have made the history of the Baroque. Artistically and temperamentally opposed, they left their mark on Rome, at the service of the Church.
One in the marble of Santa Teresa, the other in the stucco of San Carlino, the church where he wanted to be buried, but which it was rejected from the church for having put an end to his life.
