A Fairytale Fair
This week’s event is sure to be memorable, we will break from the mold of quiet peaceful cultural gems and instead venture right into the middle of the amazing and vibrant Thai temple fair culture.
If you haven’t been to a temple fair before, this event is sure to impress.
The Samut Prakan temple fair, established over one hundred and eighty years ago, is the oldest and longest running temple fair in Thailand, it is also one of the biggest. The fair takes place on both sides of the river around Phra Samut Chedi and in Paknam town.
There are many sideshow attractions and also an incredibly large selection of delicious food from all over the region. You can buy just about anything from household items to fashion accessories and being a purely local event it will give you a good insight of local Thai culture.
This will bring you back to the Thailand of 50 years ago.
