LA CURSA
Sunday, April 8, at 9:00 am, is the date of this resounding anniversary. La Cursa El Corte Inglés celebrates 40 years as one of the most popular races in the world and an example of equality and solidarity.

La Cursa retains its 10.766 km-circuit, certified by the Federació Catalana d'Atletisme, and will again pass through the Olympic Stadium of Montjuïc. Passeig de Gràcia-Gran Via will be the starting point for the most competitive athletes running with their own yellow chip. They will be divided by boxes according to the time of each participant; and those who are also part of the Challenge BCN10k will have a control at the 10km point to contrast the time. The rest of the runners (with chipped bib) will leave from Plaça de Catalunya.

Free of charge as its identifying value
The Cursa remains free of charge as its main identifying symbol. This year, the on-line registration period began on February 20th. Since then, more than 3,000 people have confirmed their presence in the Cursa. Runners can register online at cursaelcorteingles.cat until Thursday, April 5, at 10 p.m. In-person registrations began yesterday and will end on Friday, April 6, at 9:00 p.m. The reason why competitors cannot register until the Saturday before the race responds to the will of the organization to adapt to the new European Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data, which reinforces the security and data control of participants on the day of the race.

Solidarity as an unrenounceable value
Since Protected content , la Cursa El Corte Inglés has an associated entity that benefits from all the methods of dissemination that the event generates. In this fortieth edition the adhered entity is Pallapupas (pallapupas.org).

Pallapupas is a non-profit organization founded in the year Protected content . It helps patients and their families to make a positive change through humor and theatre to improve their mood and help them grow as individuals during the process of the disease. The company is made up of a number of professional actors and actresses who have been trained in theatre and assistance techniques that can be adapted to each person. About 40,000 users benefit from Pallapupa's work: hospitalized children, adults with cancer, elderly people, and people diagnosed with some type of mental disorder. It also helps patients' relatives to overcome the process of the disease, and the nursing and medical personnel to do their job in 12 hospitals throughout Catalonia.

This year, everyone collecting their bib will receive a red nose (#nasvermell) from Pallapupas (while supplies last) to wear on the day of the race. The aim of the organization is to boost the Cursa's solidarity side and get all participants to wear their red nose before the exit to viralize this image.
