POSTPONE: Let´s go to Speyer: Special exhibition "The Physician"
Dear history and art lover,
Many of you will know the famous book “The Physician” by Noah Gordon Protected content some might even be familiar with the movie based on this book. Why not to try to see the exhibition “The Physician – the Power of Knowledge” organized by Historisches Museum der Pfalz Speyer. In this exhibition, you can explore the history of medicine, especially in the early Middle Ages.
Furthermore, you will see historical and artificial objects connected to the health subject and being in use through time.
The museum will provide us with a small booklet in English, for all those who do not speak German, so this should work out.
Coming to Speyer and not to see the Cathedral of Speyer would be a big mistake, so let's start the Speyer visit there. I asked for permission to make a short guided tour since they have informed me, there are no audio guides available because of hygienic reason. Don’t be scared and come with us.
My plan is to travel by regional train from Mainz to Speyer, which is a 1-hour journey. For the train trip, we could buy group tickets and share the cost. Arriving in Speyer we will go to the Cathedral, after that have a small lunch break and continue with the visit of the Historisches Museum something around 3 pm. I think, going back around 5 or 6 pm would make this an all-around great day trip to Speyer.
I hope you like this idea.
Looking forward to seeing you.
