The "action group" of the Experimental Stage of the Melina Merkouri Theater of the Municipality of Neapolis-Sykeon, presents the performance Cabarè Varietè in which Chekhov heroes are in crisis.
Looking at the timeless horizon of Chekhov's creation, the group were surprised to find a theatrical treasure: heroes and roles in an identity crisis. In a general economic and social decline, due to the severe fall of values, these heroes, typical of their time, but which are timeless and could be described as universal, gave them the material through a variety of short stories and theatrical plays, to set up a performance of 6 episodes and 22 roles. They insisted on meaning density and psychological clarity to "interpret" them in an interpretative way and deliver them to the judgment of the present viewer. In a show of laughter, because it frees the mind and activates the senses, we suppress the fear and mobilize the hope for each of us.
Laugh, without guilt and prejudice, in a show made with materials of yesterday for today.
The play is in greek but there is much pantomime too.
Free entrance for all internations and friends members.
