Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami
Haruki Murakami is known for creating its own specific and cerebral blend of fantasy and reality, the result being usually weird and inviting in the same time.
Tsukuru Tazaki is ‘colourless’ when compared with his high school friends, each happily embedding red, blue, white or black in their names meanings. Due to this ‘lack of colour’, Tsukuru had always felt excluded, and the feeling increases dramatically during college when, without any warning or explanation, his entire group of friends drops him. Years later and facing an anxiety borderline suicidal, Tsukuru goes off on a pilgrimage for closure, aiming to seek out each of the former friends and discover the truth of their rejection.
Let’s join Tsukuru in this journey to self, in a novel that promises an intricate puzzle of beauty, strangeness and colour, and sold one million copies during first month of publishing.
The August Protected content Book Club will meet online, using "ZOOM Cloud Meetings" App. The meeting invite will be visible on the event detail page 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
