Onam Sadhya ~ The Grand Royal Feasting
Let's head down to Protected content for a traditional Keralan feasting!
In case, you haven't a clue of what or where Kerala is, here's a crash course of my mystical culture. Kerala is a state in South West India on the Malabar coast, popular for its coconut tree-lined beaches and many waterways.
And, Onam is a harvest festival of the Malayalee community worldwide; the people of Kerala. It is celebrated to welcome a legendary emperor who, it is believed, will bring about a bountiful harvest. A little bit about its significant celebration; it is to welcome their revered ruler, people lay flower mats (Pookalam) in the front courtyard, prepare a grand meal (Onasadya), dance, play and make merry. All this is done to impress upon King Mahabali that his people are prosperous and happy.
So come experience Onam Sadhya if you've never been to one! Sadhya is a vegetarian feast or banquet. The multi course meal of Protected content is served traditionally in banana leaf. Each dish is lovingly crafted and celebrates the true flavours of Kerala.
Hope to see you there and spread the word across to many who likes a twist of different cultural excitements!
