Georgian movie night!
Let's explore Georgian culture by gathering in our DIY-cinema! We will watch an old (or not very old, you decide) Georgian movie together, with a sip of a true Kakhetian wine (or other drink), and share the thoughts and emotions.
There's no entrance fee. You can order drinks and dishes from the menu.
Here are the movie options (original sound + English subs):
1. "Mimino" (Eng dub or subs available) – is a Protected content film by Soviet director Georgi Danelia, the movie won the Protected content Prize at the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. It is about the Georgian bush pilot Valentin (Valiko) Mizandari a.k.a. Mimino, who works at small local airlines, flying helicopters between small villages. But he dreams of piloting large international airlines aircrafts, so he goes to Moscow for refresher courses.
2. "Father of a Soldier" shot in Protected content a World War II-themed drama. The movie tells a story of a farmer who gets notified that his son was wounded in the war and taken to the hospital. The father decides to find his son and visits him. Original audio + English subs.
3. "Tangerines" is a Protected content . During the war in Abkhazia, an Estonian man stays behind to wait for his lucrative crop of tangerines. After a firefight he must care for two soldiers, each from opposing sides, who each vow to kill the other once they recover. Original audio + English subs.
