Royal Albert Home: Roberto Fonseca
Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca will deliver an exclusive set from his home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions online.
The Havana-born vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and bandleader first appeared at the Hall with the Buena Vista Social Club® ensemble, as part of a Protected content world tour. His subsequent nine solo projects have included the epic Afro-Cuban album, Zamazu – which spawned the song Llegó Cachaíto, used in the Hollywood film, Hancock – Protected content GRAMMY-nominated Yo, and extensive tours both as a solo artist and in a trio.
His new release, Yesun, features guests including GRAMMY-winning saxophonist Joe Lovano, lauded French-Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf and rising star Cuban rapper Danay Suarez.
During this special Royal Albert Home online session, expect retro-modern keyboards, electronic beats and AfroCuban rhythms.
