Hjs 60th Anniversary Concert W/ Special Guest Steve Turre
The Hartford Jazz Society is proud to present the 60th Anniversary Concert and Fundraiser. The special guest is trombonist/seashellist Steve Turre. Mr Turre will be leading an all-star sextet with: Orion Turre, drums; Wallace Roney Jr., trumpet; Emilio Modeste, tenor saxophone; Isaiah Thompson, piano; and Dezron Douglas, acoustic bass.
This event is also serving as their annual fundraiser, with all donations going towards programming and scholarship activities.
About Steve Turre:
One of the world’s preeminent jazz innovators, trombonist and seashellist Steve Turre, has consistently won both the Readers’ and Critics’ polls in JazzTimes, Downbeat, and Jazziz for Best Trombone and for Best Miscellaneous Instrumentalist (shells).
