It looks down on the city of Florence from the hill above San Miniato and Piazzale Michelangelo offering a stunning view up close with the most relevant monuments of the town.
To those heads of the State who came to visit his manor, Spadolini used to open his hand and show, how with five fingers you can grasp the Tower of Arnolfo di Palazzo Vecchio, the Medici Chapels of Michelangelo, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Brunelleschi’s Dome: ” Which city in the world, is able to show masterpieces of similar genes through the fingers of one hand? " was his rhetorical question.
The villa, was meant to hold forty thousand volumes (almost half of those collected by Spadolini during his lifetime, which ended in August Protected content , at the age of Protected content incunables to 16th century editions, from works of the 17th and 18th century to booklets and editions dating back to the 19th and 20th century.

Not just books, but also art and history. Each room is dedicated to the works of a different painter: Rosai, Soffici, Morandi, Caffè, Guido Spadolini, father of the Florentine statesman, friend of Fattori and inspired by the school of the Macchiaioli.
