In Review: The Gods Are Not To Blame
4 Months and 4 books down, endless more to go.
We welcome May with a delve into plays. Our first one yet.
In Ola Rotimi's "The Gods Are Not to Blame" we are invited to a rework of Oedipus Rex. A novel set in an indeterminate period of a Yoruba kingdom.
In 3 acts and 10 scenes, we see themes such as African Symbolism, Colonization, Language and the Yoruba Culture.
Rotimi's play has been celebrated by literatis the world over.
Will you join us to see what the celebration is all about?
May awaits, and coffee brews.
See you then!
