Omar Mahfoudi was born in Protected content Tangier.

At the beginning of his career, the artist was very attached to the portrait. But since he settled in Paris, he opened up new perspectives for his painting, taking an interest in landscape and developing a plastic language combining realism and fantasy. The omnipresent drips give a diaphanous aspect to the paintings and drawings of Omar Mahfoudi and confer an additional mystery to the painted scenes.

In his recent works, Omar Mahfoudi often represents simple bathers, in vast overall shots, as if they were imperceptible atoms lost in the universe. The twilights that haunt this painting, sublimated by both cold and warm tones, reflect as much a thwarted aspiration towards infinity as a cosmic anxiety in the face of threats weighing on an environment that is all the more sublime in beauty as it is knows today threatened with extinction.

In his own way, Omar Mahfoudi gives shape to a floating, elusive world, subject to a principle of permanent metamorphosis.

The artist lives and works between Paris and Tangier.
