VOLCAN CHICHINAUTZIN MEDIUM LEVEL NEW ROUTE
We will head towards the village of Parres and have breakfast on the way there. Then we will arrive at Parres, where we leave the cars and start walking towards this famous volcano that has one of the most important biological corridors of the area. The beginning of the hike is through crops fields and then we’ll go into a wonderful forest that grew after the last eruption of this volcano millions of years ago.
Whoever wants may hike around the crater or take a rest, in order to start the hike again towards the summit, where we’ll have lunch. The descent is on the same route.
The hike is approximate 18 kms, 6 hours in total walking and a elevation gain of Protected content .
We consider that the hiking trip we’ll be doing there requires a medium level of hiking experience. People eligible for this trip must also engage in moderately heavy exercise on a regular basis, since we will be traversing nearly Protected content of altitude and most of the hike is steep.
Adequate footwear is mandatory - Hiking boots or shoes or at least sneakers. If you don’t wear proper shoes you will be discouraged to participate, because the trails are often steep and usually present loose rocks, making it easy to get injured.
