Intermediate weekend hiking trip: Cerro Pizarro y La Derrumbada
We will visit Guadalupe Victoria located in the state of Puebla, where we will enjoy its unique ecosystem. This area is full of volcanic crater lagoons with incredible blue-green water and majestic vegetation.

We will climb 2 mountains: Cerro Pizarro and La Derrumbada Rosa (an active volcano).
On Saturday Feb 1st we will drive towards Guadalupe Victoria, Puebla. We’ll stop for breakfast at Huamantla and meet our host and guide, Ing. Rosendo Cortés. Then we'll drive to Cerro Pizarro to start our hike. Cerro Pizarro is a picturesque mountain with fantastic views around it. At the end of the day we will lodge in Rancho La Unión, in rooms with bunk beds for Protected content and hot showers. We will enjoy a tasty dinner at the Rancho.
On Sunday morning we will have breakfast and then head towards La Derrumbada Rosa. The climb is long and somewhat difficult but the scenery is amazing the whole way up. To top it off! We will get to enjoy the water vapor flowing from the earth due volcanic activity.
On Monday we'll have breakfast and visit some lagoons nearby before heading back to CDMX.
The cost is $3,500 MXN before January 24th and $4,000 MXN afterwards.
