Historic Maritime Tour of East Downtown
This is a free 1 hour professional guide-led walking tour of the maritime area in East End Houston. As this area continues to be redeveloped and gentrified, this is a great opportunity to learn the history of the waterways, it's significance in the development of Houston, and also see the new installations along Navigation Esplanade that are making this area more and more popular.

From the website: "Families will be able to explore boats in the parking lot, contribute to our new community sail project, and challenge themselves on rowing machines. At noon, a special walking tour of the East End will commence Thank you to Battleship Texas Foundation, Buffalo Bayou Rowing Club, Four W's Fishing Team, and many others for their contributions to the event!"
Following the tour we have the option to explore the museum at a discounted rate group rate Protected content . Otherwise, we can continue to tour the art murals in the area or go to one of several restaurant options for food and drinks.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. You may want to bring water. Parking will be on the street. Tour leaves at 12 noon and is a public tour so please be on time.
