The year Protected content mark the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and France, as well as the 150th anniversary of beginning of the Meiji era when the country opened to the West.
Thus a wide number of events have been organised to show the cultural diversity of Japon, such as the exhibition "Yu-ichi inou: La Caligraphie Libérée" at the "Maison de la Cuture du Japon à Paris" dedicated to this reputed caligraphier (see Bio below).
