The Cake of Hungary for Special August
For more than 10 years the National Trade Corporation of Hungarian Confectioners and One Drop of Attention Foundation annually open nationwide competitions for pastry makers to choose the best original cake recipes that reflect Hungarian traditions and flavors and for one year will bear the highly esteemed “Cake of Hungary” titles.
This year dreaming up a hazelnut-flavored fantasy, Budapest’s Sugar! Design Confectionery submitted the winning recipe for Protected content national cake (“Balatoni Habos Mogyoró”), while in the sugar-free category, Zazzi’s raspberry-infused “Pöttyös Panni” dessert came first. The first cake is enhanced with blackcurrant, caramel and creamy chocolate, while the second one does not contain added sugar or white flour and is made with refreshing raspberry mousse, a layer of sweet plum and poppy seeds.
Since August Protected content above mentioned desserts are available for tasting at cozy Nándori Patisserie which is a real hidden gem in Ráday Street. For 60 years this family-owned excellent place serves as magic oasis of cakes and ice-creams for sweet-toothers from all over the world.
