Advice on moving to Addis (Addis Ababa)

Hello everyone - I'm new to this forum, but it looks like I will be moving to Addis for a contract this summer.

I've been doing a bit of research and it appears that most expats live in Bole (which would make sense for me as well since I will be working at the African Union). Can anyone offer advice on what kind of accommodation I can find for between Protected content 600 USD? Ideally I would like somewhere furnished with relatively modern conveniences. Also, any advice on renting in Addis would be hugely appreciated (e.g. deposits, things to ask about when renting, advice on the area, etc.). Finally, in some of the rental ads I've read they talk about G+1 or G+2 ... what the heck does that mean??
