Il tempo felice del canto – When Singing Came Easy

The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to present “Il tempo felice del canto –
When Singing Came Easy,” a recital dedicated to the lyric bel canto, by soprano
Anna Casale and pianist Nicolo’ Iucolano.
The concert will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 7 PM at the Auditorium of the
Italian Cultural Institute.
The repertoire mastered by this talented duo includes some of the most important
chapters of Italian vocal music, ranging from Monteverdi to Rossini, Verdi, and
Anna Casale is a young soprano with a rich international career who has taken
leading operatic roles in, among others, Puccini’s La Boheme and Donizetti’s Elisir
d’Amore. Maestro Nicolò Iucolano is an artist superbly suited to the occasion. He
graduated in piano, and he has extensive knowledge of Liszt and Bartók. He
currently teaches at the Latina Conservatory where he is best known as director of
chorus, and he has worked in numerous countries, including Japan, France, and
Spain. In South Korea he attained great popularity as the creator (music and
libretto) of the epic opera The Eagle and the Sunflowers. The work was performed
there over a dozen times ( Protected content ) and was broadcast on South Korean national
This event is a unique occasion in Ethiopia to listen to highlights of the Italian
singing technique and repertoire.
Entrance is free and refreshments will be served after the performance.
