Hawassa or Bahir Dar? (Addis Ababa)

My husband (originally from Addis Ababa 30 years ago) and I are interested in retiring to either Hawassa City or Bahir Dar City. Any information from Expats on living in either of these cities? Pros & cons? (note: right now we are still in the U.S. until we sell our home here.)
