Global young family considering move to Adelaide

Hi there!
We are a young family. I am from Argentina, my husband from Italy. First daughter Protected content in London (where we lived for more than 8 years) and second daughter Protected content born in Wellington, NZ. This is where we have been living for the past 3 years.
Husband is considering a job in Adelaide. He is GP. We thinking Mt Barker area.
Can anybody tell me how is life up there? And how is people? Is it isolated from town or is it comfortable commuting distance? Is people open minded and welcoming?
Here in Wellington people is super friendly and we've found a very international environment. Can I find that in Adelaide too?
Also, does anybody know anything about the Steiner school in Mt Barker?
