Current Situation in Egypt (Alexandria)

I am due to move out and begin a teaching job in Alexandria at the end of August. Obviously the British press are reporting to the situation in Egypt but i was wondering if anyone there can actually tell me what its like. I will be working and living in Kafr Abdou but was just wondering if the area is safe just to put my mind at ease.
