Marriage and bureaucracy in Algeria (Algiers)

Hi everyone

I got married to a native Algerian in August. I was told that an enquiry into me and my background would then take place. It's now nearly the end of November and still I'm waiting for the enquiry to be finished and for the documents to be returned to the town where I got married. Is this kind of enquiry normal? I've never heard of such a thing before. Also, does anyone know of any way to speed this up?

I've also been waiting about three weeks for a letter of invitation to arrive with me in Ireland.

At this point, I have been separated from my wife for almost 3 months, because of bureaucracy. If anyone knows anything that can help, please free free to share.
