Newbie to Almaty looking to make friends

Hi there,

I shall be arriving in Almaty in two week's time to carry out chapter two of our research for E&P magazine on the Caspian Region's oil and gas industry (currently in Baku).

I shall be there for a month then have to head back to Baku and then back to the UK for Christmas, but shall be returning in the New Year for a couple of months.

It would be fantastic to get to know some people in Almaty! I do not know anyone so am very keen to go to Internation events and get to know people!

Please post if you know of events and are in a similar situation to me and want to make some friends!
