Drivers or driving yourself?? (Amman)

Hi there, Im wanting to know if its the "norm" to have a car and driver, or if most of the expats in Amman buy a car and drive themselves? I currently live in a country where its pretty necessary to have a driver as its crazy on the roads, and its affordable. Would anyone know the cost for renting a car and driver on a monthly basis? Thanks for your information.
