Legally Driving in Jordan (Amman)

Hello all, I've been living here for a little over 6 months now and haven't really had the urge to drive in the craziness of Amman until now lol but just wondering if I were to have a residence visa does that mean I can legally drive in Jordan? Would I need to apply for a Jordanian driving license? Any tips or suggestions would be awesome :)
