The Lisan Peninsula (Amman)
The Lisan peninsula, just west of Mazraa on the Dead Sea Road, is a little known treasure trove.
We will visit Dayr el-Qattar al-Bizanti, a byzantine monastery from the 4th century. From there we will try to find the hermit caves, Qasr al-Abyad and Qasr at-Tuba. Some walking/climbing will be necessary as these are located in the hills.
Most of the trip is on tarmac, but on the peninsula a 4x4 is required.
