this is a link to a great website with a lot of very useful background information for sight seeing, traveling, hiking, horse riding, camel riding, wadi rum excursions, diving in Aqaba, hiking in Dana in south Jordan (Petra, Wadi Rum, Dana, Aqaba and other parts of Jordan below Amman).
As the writer behind this page says, where the normal tourist guides stop (including lonely planet) this website starts, so that means offering lots of information that you will not find in a travel guide.
It also provides information on traveling with public transport in Jordan, visa, health care etc, but for IN board members it is or information most us knows. Also not everything is up to date anymore.
Information is also available in a book (but it seems to be the same information as on the website).
