Basic Photography Course-Spring 2018 (Amsterdam)

Join us for the new course starting on March 21st. This time we'll be visiting the Zaanse Schans and its picturesque windmills ( Protected content ).

In only 6 sessions (5 in the studio and 1 field trip), we'll teach you how to master your camera and learn the fundamentals of the photographic elements:

Aperture
Shutter Speed
ISO
Light and Exposure
Focus Control
White Balance
Rule of Thirds
Composition and Vantage Point
Movement (freezing and blurring)
Retouching ( an introduction to Photoshop and Lightroom)
The Basic Photography course consists of 5 two-hour classroom/studio sessions and one field trip to the Zaanse Schans. The two hour class begins with an introduction (visual presentation) on the topic of the day, followed by a detailed explanation. After that you get to put into practice what you’ve just learned through a series of hands-on exercises. After every class you get all the materials e-mailed to you, together with the assignments for the following class (homework). Ideally you are able to spend between Protected content every week working on the assignments (self study). The small class sizes (max 6) guarantees everyone will get the attention he/she needs. Classes are designed to be effective and fun, suggesting a variety of assignments in which you can apply everything you learn.
On the Camera
For this course you will need a DSLR camera, Mirrorless camera or Compact camera, which has Aperture (A/Av) Priority, Shutter (S/Tv) Priority and Manual Mode.
