Digital TV - Advice needed (Amsterdam)

Hello there.

As my landlord looks to understand less than me, I'll try to ask something here.

I have to share the TV connection with other tenants that live on the floor below me.

The TV provider is currently Ziggo.

Now I would like to buy an USB TV tuner for my Mac that includes a smartcard reader for the digital TV. Actually there is also written that is compatible with Ziggo.

I would like to know if buying this product and a smartcard from any shop, I would be able to see the TV, or I should do something else?

I've also tried to contact Ziggo, but looks that they are even less aware of how theyr services works.
