Moving to Amsterdam in August

Hi all,

I will be transferring from the NYC office to Amsterdam for work and I was hoping to get some advice and insight regarding neighborhoods to live in. I will be coming over with my fiance (recently engaged young couple), and will be commuting to Den Haag for work. Does anyone know of neighborhoods that we should focus our search on that would be close to transportation to Den Haag, but also within a reasonable (biking) distance to the liveliness and culture of the city? We are very excited to make the move!

Also, any advice on prepping for our move, or any useful tips that you wish you knew prior to arrival would be greatly appreciated.
