Moving to Amsterdam w/family...best neighborhood??

Hello All, I'm new to the forum, and would dearly appreciate some input.

My wife has been offered an opportunity to work in Amsterdam, and our family will be moving from the New York area (Ridgefield, CT to be exact) in February. We have three little girls (3,3,5), and will be taking our nanny.

I was interested in finding a location between Rokin (where my wife will work) and the children's school (most likely the British School in the Apollobuurt area, but also looking at the Little Universe Montessori near the Van Gogh Museum). From the maps (we have never been to The Netherlands), Oud Zuid appears to make the most sense...but where in Oud Zuid? Or where else would make sense for a family? Mind you, we need a 4 or 5 bedroom apartment.
