suggest a decent hotel in amsterdam (Amsterdam)

Hello InterNations friends!
I am going to a conference in september to Amsterdam, and having difficulty in securing acceptable accomodation. The websites give me list of available hotels, but they are so expensive! My organization budget limits my choice of hotels, so I need your advice in terms of selecting a decent hotel in vicinity of Beatrixpark or around.
