New in Ashgabat

Greetings to all! I'm new to Ashgabat, just arrived on Sunday and still trying to figure things out. I need advice on a few things, hopefully the Ashgabat expat community can help me out.
1) Is the 4G internet service provided by TM CELL worth picking up at all. I am currently using a 3G pre paid sim card provided by my employer. Speed is OK but connection is intermittent.
2) Which VPN would work for iPhone 6? I've tried a few, including Astrill VPN which is supposed to be very reliable, but all in vain, still unable to connect to any VPN, really need to connect with my friends and family back home via social apps.
3) I'm a gym addict...any nice and well-equiped gyms that you would recommend? Currently staying in Bitarap area.
