Local social scene? (Astana)

so is there a casual bar/cafe where English speaking out of towers tend to gather?

I just missed the big internations.com event. Too bad. Anyway, I'm in town for two weeks, but the in-laws are trying to convince us to stay much longer... I might be open to the idea but want to chat up some others who have made the move.

Final thought. Bs in math, mba accounting, currently working as the demand planning manager for a pharmaceutical packaging company back in the states. ( forecasting, planning, supply chain, etc). How does the job picture look for a bum like myself who only speaks English? My high school German has grown very poor, I can pick up more language skills... But it's going to take some time.
