Athens - or not

hey InterNations members in Athens,
I will be traveling to Greece in summer and I am not sure if I should spend some days in Athens. I have heard so many different stories about it. Some say: don't go - it's a waste of time! Others who love Athens tell me it is a must! What is your recommendation?
