Stray dogs (Athens)

Unfortunately a couple of days ago a stray dog ran in front of me, I didn't see it until I actually hit it, I was shaken but luckily managed to keep my car from swerving into the other 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. If I had seen the dog before I hit it I'm sure the consequencs for myself and others would have been fatal. The damage to my car is going to cost me 1.300 euros to be fixed. The dog was badly hurt and taken to a vet. I feel terrible about that but there was nothing I could have done to avoid it.

The mechanic said there would have been less damage had I hit another car!

I would really appreciate it if my fellow X-Pats have had or heard of similar stories.
I was on the road to Gyfada.

It is time something was done about the strays before they actually cost someone their life if it has not already happened.
