Smog and weather (Atlanta)

Hi Atlanta Community,

We live in Germany and we might move to Atlanta next year, because my husband might have the opportunity to work there for two years.

What do you think about the climate in Atlanta? Is it really that hot and humid in the summer months? And the rest of the year?
And how about the problem with smog? Are there many smog days, where you should stay inside? Is it maybe better to live in a suburb than in the city?
